Lorna’s work explores the emotional impact of colour and seeks to find ways to reimagine existing jewellery and discarded materials into objets d’art.  Lorna strives towards sustainable elegant design, production and service; seeking out ways to minimize impact whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.

From a child Lorna loved all crafts and was often found making jewellery or creating treasures from whatever she could find.  She studied A level Art & Art History and went on to do a Bsc Georgraphy degree at Aberdeen University.  It was whilst working at PwC in London she decided to retrain and started a City and Guilds in Jewellery & 3D design at the CityLit, London, under the direction of a number of distinguished UK designers, Lorna received a nomination for Outstanding Adult Learner.  Lorna went on to work for an international jewellery business, Kirsten Goss,  progressing to the position of Head of Jewellery Design and Production, before setting up on her own in 2007.

Lorna has toured the UK, exhibiting at a number of Trade Fairs, Country Living Fairs and other prestigious artisan events and handcrafted markets across the UK. Selling to a number of UK boutiques, through notonthehighstreet.co.uk and directly to a growing, loyal client base.  Lorna is excited about focusing on creating individual pieces and connecting with clients face to face with the launch of Lavender Moss Design Studio and Shop in Bedford in 2024.

For Lorna, jewellery is far more than looking pretty, it’s a powerful way of showing your individuality. Whether you prefer minimalist studs, colourful dangles or chunky bracelets her jewellery is designed for all people.  Lorna hopes that her collections are a way to share joy and connection through the art of handcrafted design.
